The Inter American Society of Psychology Ratifies Medellin as the Official Venue for the XXXIII Inter American Congress of Psychology 2011
As of October 2009, the president of the Interamerican Society of Psychology Regina Maluf, confirmed the city of Medellin as the official venue for the XXXIII Interamerican Congress of Psychology that will take place on June 2011. As it is well known, this congress has been held since 1953 and it is the most important congress of the Spanish America.
The Directive Table of the ISP has ratified Henry Castillo, dean of the Faculty of Psychology of the University of San Buenaventura, as president of the congress. In connection with the Inter American Society of Psychology, the University of San Buenaventura is in charge of all the arrangements needed to accomplish the 2011 congress. Along with the University of San Buenaventura, the Universidad CES, the Universidad Pontifica Bolivariana, the Universidad Luis Amigo and the University of Antioquia, are also taking part on the development and organizational processes regarding this upcoming congress. Other academic instances of psychology, like the Colombian Association of Faculties of Psychology, ASCOFAPSI, the Colombian Society of Psychology and the Colombian School of Psychologists have been integrated and with them, PROEXPORT, AEROREPUBLICA, Medellin Coventions, Visitors Bureau and Plaza Mayor have also joined.
The Congress will be held at the International Center of Conventions of Medellin with the presence of Effective Communications® as the logistic operator, which will assure the best conditions for the organization and coordination of the event.
